Just when you thought it was safe to jump back into the world of puzzles, Rubik’s have done it again with another head-scratcher – the Rubik’s 360. Can you crack the code and complete it?
Rather different from the cube but just as challenging, the Rubik's 360 is completely spherical. Brand new for 2009, this fresh addition to the Rubik’s puzzle range is every bit as addictive as the original puzzle that sparked a global craze back in the 80s.
The Rubik's 360 consists of a clear plastic globe containing an inner sphere with yet another 3 unfixed globes inside. These 3 inner spheres hold 6 little differently coloured balls. Each ball is housed in a matching coloured dome on the outer sphere.
The aim of the game is to use the force of gravity to guide the 6 coloured balls out of the holes in the interior spheres and return them to the correct domes on the outer sphere. Sounds easy? It isn’t. There are only 2 holes in the middle sphere, which makes manoeuvring the balls a bit tricky.
In addition to this little hitch, there’s only one way of solving the 360, so until you hit on the knack to completing it, those little balls will be rolling around with no hope of finding their way home.
However, there is a locking mechanism which secures any balls you’ve already secured in their correct domes. So, if you do want a break to regroup and think about your next move, you can have one without upsetting the applecart and starting again.
Set to be as popular as its predecessor, the Rubik's 360 is sure to be a huge hit with all ages. Happy puzzling!
Suitable for ages 8 and up, the Rubik’s 360 is available at around £14.99 - Buy Rubik's 360 >
